Location: excellent connection either by foot or metro or bus to everywhere I needed to go. Surrounded by a great variety of places to eat and drink. Building: this is an old building with history (Chopin used to live there). Inside it is well maintained with nice decor. There is a lift (a bit old and small but could fit 2 people with one very big suitcase and 1 carry-on). Although it is located at the Grands Boulevards where it is very busy, the minute you turn into the Cite de la Bergere where all these hotels are, it is noticeably more quiet and relaxing. Room: the double room is a bit on the smaller side (for all you people not used to Paris sizes) but for Paris it's exactly what I expected. Fine for 2 people with a large suitcase and a carry on luggage. Bed was comfortable. Towels where changed every day. Bathroom was great (although no ventilation). We did ask for a quieter room so we were facing the inside of the buildings (the view was not nice but I appreciated the fact that it was quiet). I would agree with other people when it comes to sound isolation - I could hear the man next door snoring. If you are a light sleeper, depending on who is staying next to you, there may be an issue (but we had no issues during our stay). There is no air conditioning (pretty much consistent with the French attitude) so if you're there in the summer do ask for a fan. We were visiting beginning of June and although it was not too hot (as there were thunderstorms), I could feel how easily the room could turn into a sauna. Breakfast: I cannot comment as we did not opt for it. Verdict: It is a great stay if you're visiting the city and you're out and about all day. We had everything we needed in close proximity and a clean and tidy room to come back and rest. Would stay there again.

Ok so I was dubious about the reviews but the hotel itself was so central. Rooms were basic, clean and tidy. Beds were comfy and bedding spotless. Bathroom a little small but again clean with hot water and a decent shower. Soap, shower gel and plenty of towels. Manager was friendly, we were able to access our room early with no problem and they kept our luggage safe till departure again with no issue. Courteous and friendly. Cleaning staff seemed happy and polite too. Location is down a side alley and there is a homeless, but harmless man who was grateful for a smile and a bonjour. Literally a minutes walk to metro but on a street with restaurants, little cafes and a mini carrefour opposite for water. We would stay there again. There is no air con so I think if it had been warmer it might have been uncomfortable but we had no problem. I wrote this review because some others seem quite unfair. It is a budget hotel and that is what we paid for. No need to book breakfast as there are little cafes all over, but it was offered each morning as an addition if we wanted it.

I went with my daughter for a weeks holiday, considering the price i paid for it, i was pleasantly surprised, hotel was really clean, ie sheets changed every day cleaned every day, staff where really helpful and knowledgable, our security box didnt recognise our code it was sorted out within the hour, everything was within walking distance sometimes a ten minute walk sometimes longer because we got distracted by a lot of tings we saw, good eateries nearby too, will definately be back at some point thoroughly enjoyed it, but ... if you go expecting the ritz dont, some points that could maybe considered, no air con window opened so it wasnt too bad, a small fridge under table would be nice to keep drinks in, do NOT expect a huge bathroom its compact but clean. but two steps and your in the shower its a small bathroom but everything worked, was quiet at night despite just being of a busy road. The hotel exceeded my expectations i really enjoyed my stay there.

The room was small but very clean. The staff were a friendly, helpful and happy group. We were initially shocked as the front of the hotel seemed to be down a back ally but inside was really nice, we enjoyed everything about it. I was really easy to get into the busy streets, metro and restaurants and enjoy what Paris had to offer

Lily

Awesome location, many restaurants and bars, bakery, fromagerie, boucherie, all you can wish for. 10 minute walk from La Fayette, metro just a minute away, and 20 minutes walk to Montorgueil. Another 20 minutes to the Seine. Windows could be opened, which was good as their was no airco (but I do not like that anyway)
